| Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-7 have arrested a United People`s Democratic Front (UPDF) member from Chattogram city’s Bayezid Bostami area.
The arrestee Sujan Barua alias Simon, 29, is a resident of Santol Para in Lakshmichhari under Khagrachhari district and the son of late Ashok Barua.
According to RAB Sujan was detained based on secret information during a raid conducted on Monday around 4:00pm in the Jalalabad Kulgaon area under Bayezid Bostami police station.
Assistant Director (Media) of RAB-7, ARM Mozzaffar Hossain, confirmed the matter.
He said Sujan is wanted in two cases filed with Lakshmichhari police station, relating to theft and subversive activities.
Following the arrest, Sujan was handed over to Bayezid Bostami police station for further legal action, he added.
