Four ports--Chittagong, Cox`s Bazar, Mongla and Payra-- have been asked to hoist local cautionary signal No 3 as the low pressure area in the Bay of Bengal is currently located over West Bengal and adjacent areas.

All fishing boats and trawlers have been advised to remain close to the coast and proceed with caution until further notice.

Meteorologist AKM Nazmul Haque said this in a bulletin on Tuesday.
