| The Amar Ekushey Book Fair 2026 will begin on December 17 this year and continue until January 17, 2026, ahead of the national parliamentary elections in February.
The decision was taken at a meeting on Thursday (18 September) at the Shahid Munir Chowdhury Auditorium of Bangla Academy to finalize the dates of the upcoming fair.
The meeting was chaired by Md. Mofidur Rahman, Secretary of the Ministry of Cultural Affairs. Also present were Bangla Academy Director General Professor Mohammad Azam, the academy’s secretaries and directors, and representatives of the Bangladesh Book Publishers and Sellers Association.
