| Kamrul Hasan : As the national election approaches, the political landscape of the country is becoming increasingly heated with growing complexities and shifting equations. Against this backdrop, the deteriorating health condition of BNP Chairperson and three-time former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia has become a focal point of political discussion and public concern.
In this situation, a special prayer session was organized in Manikganj by the District Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front, seeking her immediate recovery.
On Tuesday evening, devotees belonging to the Sanatan (Hindu) community prayed for Begum Zia’s health and quick recovery through Harinam Sankirtan and other religious rituals at the Sri Sri Anandamoyi Kalibari Natmandir in the town. Special prayers were also offered for the good health, long life, and well-being of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, as well as for global peace.
The prayer session was led by priest Kanu Goswami.
Conducted by Gauranga Chandra Sarkar, Member Secretary of the District Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front and General Secretary of the Temple Committee, the event was attended by Front Convener Ranjit Kumar Dey, Manikganj Chamber of Commerce and Industries Director Shishir Kumar Das, Senior Joint Convener Sadeb Kumar Shil, Mithu Rabi Das, Front leader Deepu Bonik, National Hindu Maha Jote President Advocate Sunil Kumar Mondal, General Secretary Tapas Rajbanshi, Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council President Kalipada Ghosh, retired banker Minu Rani Sarkar, along with leaders from various temples and local organizations.
Leaders of the Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Welfare Front from Ghior, Saturia, Daulatpur, and other upazilas also took part in the event. With the participation of numerous local devotees, the program concluded in a serene atmosphere that reflected communal harmony and mutual respect.
The speakers said, “Begum Khaleda Zia’s contribution to the struggle for the restoration of democracy is immense. Her quick recovery is now the expectation not only of political activists but also of the general public.”
Expressing gratitude to Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, the attending leaders welcomed the government’s recent decision to declare Begum Zia as a VVIP and assign the Special Security Force (SSF) for her protection. They described the gazette issued on December 1 as a humane and timely initiative.
The special prayer organized by the Sanatan community in Manikganj has already sparked widespread discussion as a remarkable expression of political goodwill, communal harmony, and mutual compassion in the local area.
