Purity of mindset vital for successful election, referendum: CHT Adviser

(BSS) – Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT) Affairs Adviser Supradip Chakma has said that a fair and credible electoral environment cannot be ensured by CCTV cameras or technology alone rather it requires sincerity and purity of mind from all concerned.

He urged the people of the country to change their negative thinking and emphasized the importance of securing a “Yes” victory in Referendum 2026 to keep the pace of development uninterrupted.

The adviser made these remarks yesterday while attending as chief guest at a views-exchange meeting on the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election and Referendum 2026 at the conference room of Magura Circuit House, said PID release here today.

He further said, in the interest of change for the people, the Chief Adviser has called for making the referendum successful, adding, “This country is ours, so we must work together for the welfare of the nation.”

Supradip Chakma expressed satisfaction over the preparations of Magura district administration and law enforcement agencies.

He suggested displaying video documentaries containing public opinion to raise voter awareness, stressing particularly on making women voters conscious and maintaining transparency.

Officials at the meeting said necessary initiatives have been taken to make the referendum successful. They informed that in Magura’s two parliamentary constituencies, a total of 847,410 voters will cast their votes at 301 centers.

The district information office and administration are conducting 411 promotional activities through miking, mobile folk songs, courtyard meetings, and documentary screenings.

In addition, CCTV monitoring and joint inspections have been ensured in 100 percent of the centers.

The meeting, conducted and presided over by Magura Deputy Commissioner Md. Abdullah Al Mahmud, was attended by Additional Secretary of the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs Md. Monirul Islam, the Adviser’s Private Secretary Khandaker Mushfiqur Rahman, Superintendent of Police Habibur Rahman, as well as officials from the army, BGB, RAB, Ansar, and other relevant agencies of the district.
