| A mobile court on Saturday fined Tk 42,000 to 16 individuals for charging excessive fares on public transport following Eid-ul-Fitr at different places in Feni.
The court, led by Senior Assistant Commissioner and mobile court magistrates of Feni Sadar Upazila, imposed the fine to the individuals during a daylong drives.
Six mobile courts conducted their drives at Mohipal Bus Stand on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway at sadar upazila and various roads in Chhagalnaiya upazila in the district.
The operations were made in order to stop taking extra ticket prices from passengers, said Senior Assistant Commissioner and mobile court judge M Alauddin.
Such drive will be continued in the area to prevent such incidents, he added.
