on April 15 this year, the government-declared 58-day `Fishing Ban Program -2025`, which concluded on June 11, prohibiting all types of fishing by vessels in the Bay of Bengal to ensure proper breeding, conservation, and sustainable harvesting of marine resources.

The Bangladesh Navy played a key role in implementing the ban program within the country`s maritime boundaries by conducting special operations in the sea and coastal areas.

Bangladesh Navy deployed four warships, numbers of patrol boats and used modern maritime patrol aircraft to strengthen the fishing ban and maintain regular surveillance round-the-clock across the vast Bay of Bengal.
