The forestry department detained one individual from deep in Sundarban.

The arrested is Ariful Islam Dulal, a resident of Korailya village under Pathorghata upazila in Barguna district.

A team of forest department called “Smart Patrol Team-2” conducted a raid and arrested Dulal from Sukhpara area of Sharonkhola range in the Sundarbans while he was setting a deer trap.

Forestry department also seized 300 pieces of deer traps, a knife, plastic sack, 100 feet of rope and many other things used for hunting deer.

Sundarban East Divisional Forest officer Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury confirmed the incident and said that the arrested person has been sent to jail after being produced before the court.
