Trump Offers Sanctions Relief to Iran for `Peaceful` Behavior
  30, June, 2025, 11:36:9:AM

International Desk : Following a tense 12-day conflict and subsequent ceasefire between Iran and Israel, U.S. President Donald Trump is now calling for Iran to return to the negotiating table regarding its nuclear development program.

He has also indicated that his administration might lift sanctions imposed on the country, albeit with certain conditions. Trump stated that sanctions could be removed if Iran acts peacefully and cooperates with the United States.

Anadolu Agency reported this information on Sunday, June 29.

In an interview broadcast on Fox News on Sunday, Trump said, "If they [Iran] stay peaceful, engage with us, and cause no further harm—then I can lift the sanctions."

He elaborated, "Being kind and peaceful is more effective than being harsh or negative in achieving goals. Lifting sanctions could bring about significant changes for Iran."

Trump also dismissed claims that Iran had moved its uranium before the recent U.S. strikes. In the same interview, the U.S. President reiterated his assertion that Iran was unable to move its enriched uranium before the attacks because it is a heavy and dangerous material that cannot be relocated quickly.

"We didn`t give much advance warning," he said. "So they couldn`t move anything. In fact, they didn`t even think we would attack."

Trump further claimed that Iran is "exhausted" by the recent attacks from Israel and the United States, suggesting it is currently unable to continue its nuclear activities. In his words, "For some time to come, they won`t be doing anything with nuclear. They`re in a state where they can`t do it anymore."

Additionally, the U.S. President expressed hope that more countries would join the Abraham Accords, an agreement aimed at normalizing relations between Israel and Arab nations. While he did not specify any particular countries, he mentioned, "Some important countries have already joined us. Now we will see a few more countries join this because Iran was the main problem for this entire region."
