  12, August, 2026, 9:06:30:PM

WR Desk: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has announced to celebrate August 14, Pakistan’s Independence Day, with full zeal and to observe August 15, India’s Independence Day, as Black Day.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the decision was taken at a meeting of the APHC -AJK chapter chaired by its Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi.

Speaking on the occasion, Ghulam Muhammad Safi said August 14 will be observed to express Kashmiris’ deep love and affiliation with Pakistan, while August 15 will be marked as Black Day to protest against India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir.

APHC leaders said the relationship between Pakistan and the Kashmiri people is based on historical, ideological and emotional grounds. Despite Indian military occupation, political repression, rights violations, arrests and curbs on freedom of expression in IIOJK, Kashmiris will not give up their demand for the right to self-determination.

They said on August 15, Kashmiris will record peaceful protest against Indian occupation and draw the international community’s attention to the human rights situation in the occupied territory and to their right to self-determination.

The APHC appealed to the people, political and religious parties, lawyers, students, journalists and civil society in Pakistan to remember Kashmiris in August 14 celebrations and express solidarity with the people of IIOJK.

The APHC reiterated its resolve to continue its political, diplomatic and peaceful struggle for the right to self-determination of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and urged the international community to play its role in securing this right for Kashmiris.
