An HSC examinee died after drowning while bathing in a pond at Sreenagar upazila in Munshiganj district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Intesar Islam Ajbi, 19, a resident of Mohammadpur area of Dhaka. He had recently completed his HSC examinations and was visiting Sreenagar with friends.

According to locals, Intesar drowned while bathing in the pond at around 4 PM with his friends.

Later, locals and fire service personnel quickly rescued him and rushed to Sreenagar Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctors declared him dead.

Sreenagar Fire Service Station Officer Dewan Azad Hossain confirmed the incident.
